A friend of yours has just made the transition from renter to homeowner. So what to give as a housewarming gift? Friends that you are close with are the easiest. You want it to be personal, memorable as purchasing the home was.You can wait for the housewarming party or you can take the initiative and start planning you gift right away.
A realtor friend of mine and I came up with a great unique gift idea that she gives to all her clients when they purchase a home from her realty company, a
“Guardian Angel for the Home” Angel painting. She includes a card that states “This Angel is created especially for Your Home … I ask that it protect you and bring you joy, health, and happiness”. I liked the idea so much since I am an Angel collector and Angel artist and Angels are for everyone, I have started giving these as a housewarming, hostess or thank you gift.
You can always do something different, but try and keep the person in mind. Are they a “do it yourselfer”? Home Depot or Lowe’s would be a great place to find a gift or even a gift certificate and is an excellent gift because such centers also sell gardening must haves, grills, small home appliances and tools that every homeowner needs.
Are they a movie buff? Gift certificates for movie rentals or the purchase of their favorite DVD. Music lovers you can do the same thing by adjusting it to music or if in the big city … tickets to a musical? With that new mortgage they may hesitate to purchase frivolous things for themselves.
Put on your thinking cap! Many unique gift ideas can be inexpensive. A photo album for the new pictures of their new home. A basket full of spring bulbs to plant and include the gloves and instructions on how to plant them. Luxury bath items for that long
soak in the new whirlpool bathtub in the master suite. Fireplace tools or a chord of wood are a good item if they have never had a fireplace before. Dinner at their favorite restaurant.
How about a subscription to their favorite magazine or newspaper delivered to their new address?
The point is, you want something that is going to be enjoyed. A gift that is taken out of the box and not a dust collector.
There is something special for every budget that you can give that adds to the delight, joy, and thrill of the new homeowner.

Housewarming Gift Ideas – What is Appropriate?
February 1st, 2010Home Built Wind Mills – A One Weekend Project That Could Save You Hundreds a Month!
January 24th, 2010
Home built wind mills are a great money saver! They make an excellent weekend project. They are not all that difficult to make. And you will make that investment back many times over as your new wind mill produces free electricity for you each and every day year in and year out.
What Can You Run With Your Wind Mills?
The good thing about building your own is that you can make as many or as few of them as you need. If you will only be running small home appliances, then you will most likely be okay with one wind mill piping in wind generated power. If you position your wind mill in a breezy part of where you live, then if you have several, you could completely wipe out your electrical bill! You would be living off of completely free and clean renewable energy sources!
You Are Safe In A Power Outage
If your area is affected by a power outage, you don’t need to worry at all. Your home built wind mills will provide you the power you need to get you through. If you think about it, most times the power is out during a storm where there is a lot of wind. So, all the better for your wind mill!
Save Money And You Could Even Get Paid
If you produce more power than you can use up, that extra energy can be pumped back to your power company who will then proceed to pay you for the power you produce! Not a bad deal, I say!

Home Appliances Prototyping
December 30th, 2009
Modern living demands highly efficient, multi-functional, durable and affordable home appliances, electronic equipment and other modern products. Companies are constantly faced with the challenge of finding innovative, fast, flexible and low-cost means of meeting consumers’ demands. A great deal of work is usually involved in the prototyping of the appliances, equipment or gadgets.
What is Prototyping?
Prototyping is one of the most essential aspects in the development of a product. It is the process of creating a working model called a prototype so that viability of the product can be tested. Prototyping is also used to collect feedback from preliminary users and detect consumer interest; this feedback is used to improve the product and reduce risks and production costs.
Rapid Prototyping
Most manufacturing and designing companies now use the so-called rapid prototyping or solid freeform fabrication, an automatic building of components of an appliance for the purpose of demonstrating, evaluating and testing its features and functions at a lower cost and reduced design cycle time. Ultimately, rapid prototyping aims to speed up the whole development process of the product.
The physical model or solid prototype is created from the descriptions of a computer aided design (CAD) model. With the use of CAD, fabrication of the appliance is automated; a prototype can be made within hours rather than the weeks that the prototyping method involving tooling requires.
The Future of Prototyping
Today, advanced CAD programs help engineers and designers create digital representations of a product?s components and analyze these components almost instantly. More advanced computers are also now capable of processing complicated physics equations needed to conduct these analyses and tests.
As more sophisticated CAD software has emerged, it is not surprising that the prototyping of modern home appliances has dramatically improved in the last few years. These make possible a less expensive and faster process of fabrication for prototypes, which ultimately leads to production of more efficient, higher quality and less expensive home appliances.
